Mixed Media monthly challenge blog inspiration Night Tag

Hello, Today I want to share with you three inspiration projects by our Design Team members to share with you created for Mixed Media Monthly Challenge blog may Moodboard. Is not it fascinating how talented people see the world? The Mood Board is the same, but the interpretation is very different.

There is a short explanation for each inspiration on paints and medias used and techniques.

Mixed Media monthly challenge blog inspiration Night Tag

I used Hardboard tag and shapes sets to make the composition. I have created texture by adding Crackle Paint and Fine Texture Paste and Snow Paste and plastic stencil with stars. Dark shades of Vintage Paint: ocean grey, deep blue, and charcoal black helped me to create the rich and deep background.   For a bit of metallic luster, I added Patina: black pearl, sapphire ( shade of blue), and chameleon blue colors.  Plus I add edVelvet Paste Black Pearl.  And I finished the project by adding few highlights with white acrylic paint. Few dry brush strokes and a few splashes.

Mixed Media monthly challenge blog inspiration Garden at Night

I painted the picture. This is my garden at night.
In the evening, when it gets dark outside the window ……my garden is getting mysterious!!! It consists of special colors that appear only at the time of the first night glow. Thanks to Daily ART I reflected those colors.

The glow of the night with golden and chameleon gold patina. This is non66-toxic product based on water and wax. Apply with a fi6nger or with a dry cloth and let dry. Golden patinas sparkle in the sunshine!

Every dark corner of the garden painted with acrylic paints: colours Ultramarine and Violet.
The rest of the crazy effects are mixing paints, colorant ink spray and stamps in shape leafs.

This is my garden at night – the garden of my imagination!

Mixed Media monthly challenge blog inspiration Galaxy

TiTony is here with my first mixed media tutorial made for Daily ART. The mood board of the month theme for this month was the dreams, the night, the rest. I had so many ideas and had a hard time before I finally chose the one for this project. I decided to create about the galaxy as I ever made one in my projects before.

I decorated 15 x 15 cm size canvas. First I applied a base coat of Black Gesso Paste on it. After it was dry I painted the background with acrylics.  I have used a small foam brush for this step. I started with the dominant ultramarine color, then I added other colors purple, carmine, sky blue, and turquoise. I diluted white acrylic color with water and made few splashes with a toothbrush.

Then I have added embellishments. I made the embellishments myself. I have a few molds and use self-hardening clay dough that dries without baking. I needed to decorate the embellishments to match my project. First. I primed embellishments with Gesso Paste Black, and afterward, I added highlights with Patina sapphire and emerald colors. The stars are highlighted with Chameleon Patina.

It was very tempting to add more details and layers to this project, as I have enjoyed it so much and there was still so many things I could add to it. But Ihave remembered that little goes a long way. And I understood it was a right time to finish.

I hope you like my galaxy. See you soon with a new tutorial!

This is my next project in boho style, full of flowers and gold elements. Daily ART makes great acrylics and offers wide color choice, which makes it so easy to find a right color for any project. This time I chose beautiful pink and golden glow, some brown (because I love it).  And this is how my wooden tea house looks, which in addition to the utility function, can also be a very interesting decoration of your kitchen.

I glued a wooden tea house with Wood Glue. Then I painted White Gesso. I chose one of the Daily ART plastic stencil-masks. I applied Stencil Paste White on it. Then I glued the wooden elements and paper flowers on Gel Medium Gloss. In some places I’ve put on Snow Paste, Glass Beads and the new Crackle Paint, which when it dries breaks and gives fantastic results. After drying, I used to color Vintage Ink Spray’s in Fuchsia, Pale Fuchsia and Sepia colors. Glossy Ink Spray Melted Chocolate and Glimmer Bronze. I highlighted relief with White Acrylic Paint and in a few places I painted Patina Ruby and on the banks of Charcoal Black Vintage Paint.

Have a nice day,

This time I’ll show you my mixed media project in the boho style. This is the subject of the work assigned to Daily ART Design Team, so this is a kind of challenge for me! I made a decorative plaque in intense colors with beautiful flowers. Do you want to know how to do it? I invite you to a small step-by-step tutorial

Of course, I began my boho style mixed media project with planning. I chose the elements that will be used in the project.

I painted my plaque with White Gesso.

There were two holes so that one could hang it. I do not need those. I covered the unnecessary holes with Fine Texture Paste to hide them, and let the paste dry.

Using a mask-plastic stencil, I applied Daily ART Stencil Paste in a bronze color. Stencil Paste has a beautiful, intense metallic color and dries very quickly. I used the Daily ART stencil. Then I took my embellishments and decorative details and put the whole composition with boards and flowers together.I also used sisal and small pieces of gauze. I glue everything with Gel Medium Matt. It is a transparent medium that glues very well on all kinds of surfaces.

I chose the colors of Spray Inks, which I associate with the style of boho. Intense pink – Carmine, strong turquoise – Emerald, a bit of Sepia (because I love it) and gold-brown shiny accents with Glimmer Ink Spray Bronze. I colored the whole composition with Mixed Media Spray Inks and water. I don’t spray the mist directly on the work, I only dispense the color with a brush and add water. I feel better control of color then.

After Spray Inks become dry, I added lighter accents with Daily ART White Gesso highlighted the edges with Acrylic Paint, black. To complete the boho style project I gently applied Bronze Patina, to add some shiny highlights.

Here we are.  Gently bleached colors, splashes with mists, flowers and a bow.

Have a nice day,
Kasia Salmanowicz

Hello in spring!
Today I’d like to show my spring notebook with pastel acrylic paint and flowers. I’m a fan of brown shades, so I added a little Deep Brown accent very gently;) It’s a series of Vintage Paints in subdued colors.

I painted the cover of the notebook with White Gesso and added a fabric patch to make some structure on the surface. Next, I used a stencil and my new favorite medium – Sand Texture Paste. I put their beautiful paper roses and hardboard flowers of Daily ART   Additionally, a little ribbon and string to make the whole composition full. I glued everything with Gel Medium Matt.
I painted everything with acrylic paints: Mint, Pale Green, and Pink. These colors blend in beautifully. After drying, I whitened the whole gently with White Paint and splashed with the same colors paint mixed with water. At the end a few black accents with Black Paint.

Have a nice day,
Kasia Salmanowicz

Do you like vintage style? I love, it’s my favorite I think…
Today a have wooden box which I made for my mum. She loves shades of grey, so it was an excellent gift for her birthday.I used  Vintage Sprays Silver Gray, Black and a little bit of Calypso Blue for my project.
You should try Sand Paste To make some texture. It gives fantastic results. Additionally Glass Beads which in combination with white gesso (or white acrylic paint) looks charming. In the end, I used Patina, Black Pearl color. It gives a metallic effect. And Gel Medium is a must for the project. I used it many times.

Have a nice day,
Kasia Salmanowicz

Today I’d like to show my dreamcatcher in retro style with my favorite brown shades. I use a lot of Daily Art products in this colors… Have a look 😉

At the beginning, I cover with white gesso every wooden detail. It’s very important step when you will use water in a mixed media project. In this time I use mini frames and wooden board.

To make some texture I use Velvet Paste Onyx with a stencil. The color of this paste is very intensive so the effect is expressive! In every project, you can use Snow Paste. After drying it gives an interesting effect. You can paint it later. Glass Beads in two sizes let get some interesting structure.

To color my project I use vintage (sepia and black), glossy (melted chocolate, black) and glimmer (gold) Ink  Sprays. They have beautiful colors and amazing effect. Some elements I painted with Bronze Patina.

In the end, I added a little stamping with white acrylic paint.

I hope you like retro projects 😉

Have a nice day,
Kasia Salmanowicz
